A contemporary take on the US prohibition era speakeasies, in central Copenhagen.

Run by mixologist Humberto Saraviva Marque, this prize awarded cocktail bar in Copenhagen takes you back to the days of 1920 to 1933 when the prohibition ban was set in motion in the US, and speakeasies were a way to get around the legislation. Even if no such legislation is in motion today, Curfew encapsulates this in what used to be an old bookshop back in the days in Copenhagen. This is also the first thing you meet in the entrance, a bookshelf, before you are approved to enter the bar itself.

While inside the atmosphere offers you an intimate experience dimly lit with only a few light sources to display your cocktail and company while jazzy music is playing along in the background. The bar is also clad with rare vintage finds that Humberto has collected over the years, an ice machine being one of them.

The cocktail menu is quite long, so you do your best to let the bartenders on location help out to pick the right cocktail for you. One thing for sure though is that there is an international touch to the cocktails due to Humbertos background coming from Portugal.

We recommend making a reservation in advance prior to your visit.
