Head to the jeweler, in other words De Jewelier, for a French à la carte experience at its finest, call it a polised diamond if you like. Paté en croûte, baba au rum… it’s all on the menu amongst a range of other dishes with inspiration from both the French kitchen and nearby areas. The veal kidneys is somewhat of a signature here, but if there is one we would not miss is the perfectly prepared steak frites that will melt in your mouth.
With generous portions jam packed full of flavor, all for a more than reasonable price for both food and wine might we add, it’s hard not to fall a little bit in love with the concept of De Juwelier that is also open every day of the week. There is at least one food writer here that wished he had one nearby at all times to become a regular.
De Juwelier is restaurant by the duo Richard van Oostenbrugge and Thomas Groot who also runs Restaurant 212, Bistro de la Mer and Restaurant de Mark – all of them counting up 4 stars in Guide Michelin in total, and De Juwelier being one of them.
