What started out as a food truck in Copenhagen, has turned into a full-blown restaurant offering a modern take on Mexican cuisine. Just a short walk from the Copenhagen Central Station on Istedgade you will find restaurant Sanchez, run by ex-Noma chef Rosió Sánchez together with her friendly team that will take great care of you while visiting.
All (yes, all!) the dishes at Sanchez is maxed out with flavors and variety of textures. The dishes is in a way both familiar and comforting while at the same time feel like something new and different. It’s the perfect match of a relaxed no-fuss cooking with a lot of refinement. Even just dipping the crispy piece of sourdough bread from local bakery Hart (which is already a highly recommended visit) in the blue mussels dish with a creamy chipotle sauce is a mouth-watering tasteful experience that leaves you wanting to lick the plate for the last piece of drop.
Even if the best way to experience the menu is as part of their tasting menu (don’t worry, that do-it-yourself tacos will most likely be part of it as on our visit), don’t forget to end your evening with their beautiful contemporary take on the classic churros.
Sanchez offers a delightful new take on Mexican food highly recommended for anyone to experience while in Copenhagen. And we are happy to report you can do so every single day of the week, and even for lunch during Saturdays and Sundays. What are you waiting for? Vamos!
